"To LOOP or not to LOOP?" using VR in the music classroom

(in collaboration with the Music Department of the Ministry of Education and Culture Cyprus and the Pedagogical Institute of Cyprus)

This project/workshop was the first to be implemented in public schools in Cyprus, exploring the possibilities of VR technology to be used creatively in the music classroom and benefit students knowledge, musicality and improvisation skills. 

The pilot project was introduced in 2 public schools and aims to continue in the future, implementing Digital technologies, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Immersive Reality in the music lessons of public and music schools of Cyprus.

intoMUSIC is an educational project that aims to develop
new ways of learning and teaching music in public or normal schools, focusing on: up-scalling music teachers competences, elaborating new teaching methodologies, disseminating these methodologies through peer-learning and multiplier events, reinforce European cooperation in the field of music teaching.

The workshop focused on integrating applications within the music lesson, as part of improvisation and as part of building compositional skills to students, combining computers, tablets and musical instruments. 

"Interfaces project" in collaboration with the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation

Create and perform with sounds. An interactive workshop focusing on listening, creating new sounds and recording. 

The workshop was specifically designed for students, in order to develop new musical skills in composition, while also using different music software for recording, mixing and perform their own music compositions.

As part of the Interfaces project the project was in collaboration with Dr. John Richards, lecturer at De Montfort University and director of the Dirty Electronics ensemble.

Workshop on building "DIY Electronics" instruments, creating graphic notation and performing with their new instruments as part of the concert "Fleeing Clarity" . 

Performance of solo clarinet compositions and my own composition "Fleeing Clarity" for solo clarinet and interactive visuals, by the clarinetist George Georgiou, inside the museum of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. 

CLAssic Beat YOUth FESTival 2

Workshop in integrating sound-based music in performance and improvising with DIY electronic instruments, part of the second festival for young musicians, taking part in Cyprus, over 3 days of workshops and performances. 


At the ending concert of the festival, my piece "SUDOKU" in collaboration with Natasa Hatziandreou, was composed and performed specifically for the festival.

Create your own DIY electronics instrument.

A workshop on thinking and building a DIY noise/electronic instrument and performing with it!

Based on the work of the "Dirty Electronics" ensemble formed by Dr. John Richards.

The participants performed along side the music students of the Music School Marios Tokas, in Limasol, at the opening of the AVATON 4th festival, withe their DIY instruements.
